About our Team
Brendon Rule hosted the original Peace & Rhythm blog. DJ Andujar is his evil twin. One or the other may be responsible for any number of funkifried happenings. From the legendary Radio Clandestino to the Rumba Psicodélica parties, the joint will always be bonkers.
Pablo Yglesias thrills us with his endless enthusiasm and knowledge of global funkiness. As a writer and historian he has informed on many musical subjects from latin & funk to jazz & punk via the likes of Wax Poetics, his Rough Guides overviews and more. The author/curator of Cocinando! Fifty Years of Latin Album Cover Art (PAP), he also regularly spins vinyl as DJ Bongohead and works in the fields of art and graphic design. He created our logo.
Justin Cohen travels the world as DJ Studebaker Hawk. He digs for records and throws parties running the gamut of funk, disco, house, soul, Latin, Balearic, and funky music from around the world. When not on the road, you can find him between Guadalajara, Mexico and Boston/Northampton, Massachusetts. A constant presence at record fairs across the Northeast USA, his Discogs online shop carries P&R releases and thousands of new & used titles across all genres.
Phil Straub has been delivering us great & groovy music via his popular Funky Friday weekly radio program since 1999. Phil’s tastes run a wide range, with a special love of soul music. He has an appetite for cinema and sequential art. He is also a homebrewer.
