Money Chicha are a five-piece psychedelic chicha/cumbia offshoot of Grammy-winning Latin big band Grupo Fantasma and their related funk band Brownout. Armed with blistering psychedelic guitar runs (as influenced by Peruvian / Amazonian styles, demented hard surf-rock and even some ’70s Turkish/Anatolian moves), danceable Latin percussion and raging passion, this band wins new fans everywhere they go. Most members of this unit have served as backing band for the likes of Prince, GZA of Wu-Tang, Daniel Johnston and others.
